Before transitioning into the hospitality industry, Patti served as the Executive Director of a beloved local museum. In this prestigious role, she was instrumental in preserving the heritage of the Palm Coast region, fostering a sense of history and community pride. Her leadership at the museum solidified her reputation as a dedicated advocate for Flagler County’s cultural landmarks.

Originally hailing from Vienna, VA, Patti traded the bustling D.C. suburbs for the serene Atlantic shoreline many years ago. Today, she is a true "local," possessing an intimate knowledge of Flagler Beach’s hidden gems—from its famous cinnamon-colored sands to its eclectic dining scene.

Patti’s transition from museum director to boutique host was a natural evolution of her passion for storytelling and guest experiences. At The FB Seaside Cottage, she combines her professional background in curation with a personal touch, offering visitors a stay that is both authentically local and impeccably hosted

What began as a personal hobby for our founder, Julie, quickly evolved into a mission to change an opaque industry. As an avid collector of fine jewelry, she experienced firsthand how intimidating, complex, and overwhelming the market could be for the average consumer. She realized that without the right guidance, finding quality gemstones felt less like a joy and more like a high-stakes gamble.

Driven by a passion for transparency and a desire to master the craft, Julie decided to bridge the gap between the enthusiast and the expert. In 2016, she earned her Graduate Gemologist (GG) certification from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA)—the world’s foremost authority on diamonds, colored stones, and pearls.

This rigorous training provided her with the technical mastery to:

• Identify and grade a vast array of gemstones and diamonds.
• Understand the chemical and physical properties that determine value.
• Navigate the global jewelry market with an expert eye for authenticity.

As the founder of her boutique, Patti’s philosophy is simple: Jewelry is more than an accessory; it is an emotional landmark. She understands that every ring, necklace, or bracelet tells a story be it a milestone, a memory, or a celebration of self.
